A free book club for voice teachers (and voice nerds)!
Everything Moves: How Biotensegrity Informs Human Movement
By Susan Lowell de Solórzano
From theory to practical pedagogy
This unique book club for voice teachers and singers will use the book “Everything Moves” to learn all about biotensegrity, how it shifts paradigms from the body in parts & pieces to the body as a unified and intelligent organism, and how it can inspire voice pedagogy.
This colorful book is filled already with ‘experientials’ that can be used to enhance awareness and optimize function, but also be framed to target voice function in new ways.
In weekly meetings in July & August we will explore biotensegrity from experience to intellect - you won’t even have to read the book (but you might be inspired to after feeling the effectiveness of the exercises in the book and devised from it)! Our focus will be less about the content of the chapters and more on the translation from theory to voice pedagogy.
As an exciting bonus, the author Susan Lowell de Solorzano will be joining us from time to time as she is also a music teacher and singer (and also a friend).

Learn more about biotensegrity
Check out this short video made by some of my teachers that unpacks the differences between biomechanics and biotensegrity. It’s a pretty compelling argument for learning how this emergent model of biology and movement can be used in a simple way for huge results!

Missed last year’s book club?
In the summer of 2023 we focused on David Lesondak’s 2nd edition of, “Fascia: What It Is and Why It Matters.” Lesondak joined us for the last session for a Q&A! Check it out below!
