Most voice training starts with the breath.

Ours starts with the ground.

Join movement specialist Christopher Kelly and voice pedagogue Jeremy Ryan Mossman for a workshop unlike anything you’ve experienced before, putting biomechanics and biotensegrity in action and conversation.

Those in the zoom room will get to watch Chris & Jeremy coaching singers demonstrating different strategies to enhance and optimize the voice using grounding, breath, movement, and touch based techniques.

A voice workshop that will change the way you sing, think, and practice.

Meet your hosts

Voice & movement teacher.

Jeremy is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, and is in training to be a Feldenkrais Practitioner having studied the somatic method formally since 2017. Passionate about sharing an updated perspective on the body and holism, Jeremy has a unique way of reconciling long-held beliefs about the voice and teaching with new understandings, while demonstrating ways to teach them experientially. He teaches this creative approach to other voice teachers in his program, Body Based Voice Ped.

Strength & Conditioning

Specialist

Chris Kelly created ‘The Musical Athlete’ to help Vocalists and Instrumentalist achieve their full musical and athletic potential using the same basic concepts that create an elite athlete - the ability to stack the ribcage, pelvis and cranium, and utilize the entire body as a mechanism to efficiently control the breath. This has quickly helped singers extend their range, and find more freedom, flexibility, and ease on high notes.

This isn’t about more technique.

In this live, interactive session, you’ll see how subtle changes in how you stand, balance, and organize your body can transform the way you sound and feel when you sing. Chris will assess and reposition a vocalist to restore internal alignment — bringing the pelvis, ribcage, and cranium back into coordinated motion. Then Jeremy will take that newly grounded system and expand its expressive potential through vocal play, variability, and sound exploration.

It’s about unlocking

the natural coordination

between body and voice

that already exists within you.

 Inside the workshop

We want you to know exactly what happens inside From Ground to Sound — because it’s more than a lecture or demo. It’s a live laboratory for voice and movement.

Step 1 - Assessment & Repositioning (Chris)

You’ll watch Chris assess a vocalist’s orientation — mapping where their center of mass lies, how their ribcage and pelvis interact, and what keeps them from internal rotation or balance. He’ll use subtle foot and stance changes to bring them back inside their base of support, using the voice as feedback to track improvement.

Step 2 - Exploration & Play (Jeremy)

Once the singer is re-organized, Jeremy takes over — guiding playful explorations through sound, cadence, rhythm, and emotion. He’ll show how curiosity and variability unlock new resonance patterns and expressive possibilities.

Step 3 - Integration (Both)

Finally, you’ll hear the before-and-after difference: clarity, ease, and freedom that emerge when structure and expression align. You’ll leave with simple “reset drills” and concepts to apply immediately.

Q&A and interactive discussion.
